Well, I am completely aware of the fact that it has been a while since my last blog. I would love to tell you that we have been so busy around here that I just haven't had time to sit and write, but the truth is, things have been kind of slow around here and I haven't really known what to write about. So, I have just decided to tell you what all has been going on in our regular, day-to-day lives.
Nolan was really sick this past week. We think he had the flu, but of course we can't be for sure because he never went to the doctor (just like a man!). He is better now though and back to his usual self.
Kane is in West Fork right now with his Nana. His Uncle Clay was in Berryville the other night because his band was playing at the Saw you at the Pole Rally (they did awesome, Go Dash-3, we love you!), and he got to ride back to West Fork with him. He was so funny at the rally. We would not leave Clay's side even for one second because he was so worried that Clay might go home without remembering to take him.
He has also started this new game where he says:
Kane: "Mama, I love you 5."
Me: "Well, I love you 10."
Kane: "I love you 100."
Me: "I love you 1,000."
Kane:... Well you get the idea.
It's pretty sweet. He has called me twice from his Nana's house just to tell me the amount that he loves me. I think I love him infinity!
Ruthie is good too, except for I think she is cutting her top 2, front teeth. She was running some fever yesterday, but as always, despite the pain I'm sure she is in, she is a treat to be around. Always in good spirits, and just lots of fun.
We are headed to the Fork tonight to Homecoming. To watch my brother's football team and Clay in the band, and Jordan Ferrell, looking beautiful I'm sure, as Homecoming Queen. So, I'm excited...GO TIGERS!!!
Everyone have a good weekend. BYE!

Close Call...
Well, the other night I was laying in bed reading, Nolan and the kids had already gone to sleep, when I noticed that I was hearing something. It started to worry me. I started thinking "did Nolan lock all of the doors?" I layed there a little longer wondering if I should get up and check the kids, but then I saw a flash of light outside our window and realized that the scary sound that I was hearing was the wind from a storm. It was so loud. I turned on the tv expecting to see berryville under a tornado warning. I worried that we needed to take cover. The only things that I could find were saying that we were just getting a lot of rain and there was chance of flooding. I decided that everything was going to be okay and I layed down, listening to the wind, and fell asleep.
The next morning I woke up expecting to get ready and go to church when Nolan told me that our good friend, and youth pastor at our church had called and said there was no electricity at church and the morning services were canceled. We then settled in for a morning of just hanging out as a family. Later that afternoon Nolan went out into the yard to play with Kane. He came back in a little bit later and told me to go look at our front yard. I went only to find that one of our big trees in the front of our house had been completely uprooted and had fallen just a couple of feet from the house. I can't believe that it got so close to the house, but I am so thankful that it didn't hit it, especially since it was Ruthie's room that it would have hit. So, needless to say it was a close call.
Oh yeah...if anyone needs some fire wood, let us know!

Here Comes the Bride...
Well, this past weekend was an eventful one for sure. I made 2 trips to Fayetteville for a friend's wedding that Kane happen to be in, and when I wasn't in Fayetteville I was doing AWANA.
For those of you that don't know what AWANA is, it is this wonderful children's misistry that our church just started yesterday. I am heading it up and I, with the help of a lot of great people, have been working on getting it off the ground for about 3 months. It has been a lot of work but I can't imagine anything more wonderful and fulfilling than God's work. So, needless to say, it has all been so worth it. AWANA- stands for "Approved workmen are not ashamed." Anyway, AWANA encourages kids to memorize God's word, the bible, but most importantly it encourages them to understand it and apply it to their wonderful, little lives. Yesterday was our first AWANA club meeting and already I fill so blessed to be a part of it.
When my friend Sara called me and asked me if Kane could be the ring bearer in her wedding I said "are you serious?!" I told her Kane had a mind of his own, is extremely active, and has one volume...Loud. I told her that I wasn't sure if I could handle the nerves involved with him being in the wedding. I've been to weddings before where no one even knew a wedding was in progress because they were to busy watching the kids in the wedding talk, scream, cry, lay down, make faces, jump off of the stage, and you get the idea. I love my son, but I'm also a realist and I could see him doing not only one of these things, but all of them at the same time if he was given the chance.
She assured me it would be fine. So, I said okay (against my better judgement mind you). I told her that I felt like I had warned her and if he did anything wild it was not my fault. She had been WARNED!
Well, I should give the little guy a little more credit. He actually did really great. Although I did think for a second there at the end when he was walking out behind the bride that he was going to step on the back of her dress, but, she was warned, so like I said...out of my hands.
I had a good time at the wedding I got to see some old friends and visit with them for a while. Nolan was there with me, and my mom. There was a chocolate fountain that made my entire night. When it was time for the cake I even made Nolan go put some chocolate on my cake for me (he told me never to ask him to do this again because he said everyone was looking at him like he was crazy, this made me giggle, because this is exactly why I made him do it and not me). It was a fun night, and a good weekend.

Labor Day Weekend
We had a great Labor Day. We spent some time with family and of course ate way too much. The Hogs barely scraped by with a victory on Saturday. I feared for our weekend when I thought they might lose (my dad and Nolan would have been a little cranky I think). We enjoyed a fashion show West Fork style, and we went to church at our hometown church and were able see some old friends.
It is always a comfort to me when I see friends from home. It always seems like nothing has changed and I am thankful for that.
I also took the oppurtunity this holiday to start a new book. I actually started it Saturday around 2 in the afternoon and finished it around 5:00 a.m. I couldn't help it! It was such a good story, a love story. I found myself completely sucked in. The good news and the bad is that there are 3 more books in the series. So, I'm excited that I get to read more, but to be honest I am pretty worthless when I start a book. I neglect my duties and basically read with reckless abandonement until the book is done. I know, I'm out of control, but I can't seem to help it.
That was about it. We relaxed, and had a good time just hanging out. It was a good holiday.
