Nolan's team got a big win last night against Jasper. With about 30 seconds left we were down by one. We made a big shot and then they fouled us. Taylor, a senior, put in 2 big free throws and then got a steal, got fouled again, and made 2 more big free throws. It was so exciting! I might have to get some anxiety medication to take before the ballgames if they are going to be like that though.
At one point during the game Kane went to sit by some of the jr. high boys just down from where I was sitting (I could still see him). I needed to change Ruthie's diaper so, I looked down for only a second, and when I looked up Kane was down in front of Nolan's bench trying to get Nolan to give him a hug. I of course had to run down there and grab him before his daddy got upset with him (Nolan laughed about it later, but I think it would have been a different story if we had lost).
Anyway, my mom, sister-in-law, Johna, and 2 nieces, Kaden and McKenzie came over yesterday. We had a good visit. I love it when family comes to visit. It makes me happy.
We are headed to church tonight for a Fall Festival, Kane is excited he gets to dress as Batman and participate in Trunk or Treat. It should be fun. Everyone have a good day!

Company...
My sister came to visit me this past week. We had lots of fun. Kane really enjoyed playing with his cousins. It was so sweet to watch them play and talk with each other. My sister is so funny, it drives her crazy when people have unfinished projects around their homes. I have some baseboards that don't have the nail holes filled and painted, so she filled and painted them for me just because they were driving her nuts. I love my sister so much. She is 11 years older than me and it is so great after all of these years to be at the same place in our lives. We are both married, both stay at home moms, and I love it. She is my best friend.
I also took some pictures of my niece Taylor while they were here. You can check out my pictures on my new blog for my photography...Helder Photography. Below is the address for the site.
As I take photos I will post them on this new blog. So, be sure to check it out often.
We also went to West Fork Friday night together and watched my brothers football team play. The won! It was a great game, and they are 5-1 and #1 in conference. Go Tigers beat Booneville this Friday!
Nolan's teams won both games lastnight at Omaha (jr. high and sr. high). It was wonderful. I am so proud of him. He and his team have worked really hard this year to prepare for this season. Go HIGHLANDERS!!! They play this friday in Fayetteville at Fayetteville Christian. Come help me cheer for them. Until next time. Bye!

Tis the Season...
For Basketball! At least in our house. We are officially starting the countdown for Nolan's basketball season. I'm sure you noticed, but I even changed my blog background in honor of the season. His first game is Oct. 21 (Eureka doesn't have football, so they start their season earlier than those w/football). I can't believe it is so soon. I need to get some red to wear in honor of the big night. It's just around the corner- 6 days and counting! Go Nolan and Go BIG Red!!!

A Good Day...
What a good Saturday we had! We had Nolan's basketball team over for a cookout and to watch #1 Oklahoma (not anymore however) and #5 Texas (movin' up though) play each other. I think they had a good time and I know that Kane did. At halftime of the football game some of the boys went outside and played football with him, below are some pics from the fun day.

Also, the Hogs got a win, so, any Saturday with a Razorback victory is a good day. We also had our good friends Ricky, Megan, and JP Sowell over that night. They helped us finish off some of our leftovers. I'm thankful for friends like the Sowells. They are strong in their love for Christ and they are always willing to spend time with our family. Thanks you guys! We love you.
Anyway, it was a great day full of fellowship and lots of fun. You can't beat that!

Late Night Snack...
The other morning when I was making Kane's breakfast he asked for some strawberries in his cereal. I had just bought some at the store the day before so I knew that there were some in the fridge. I went to get them and realized that there were only three left in the whole container. I called Kane into the kitchen and asked him if he had eaten some of them. He said "no" at first, but I knew better so I asked again (meaner this time), and he said "yes". Well, this got me to thinking, "If he ate all those strawberries then where are the stems?" (normally when he eats strawberries I have to cut off the end of them first or he will only eat about half of the strawberry and waste the other half). So, I asked him what he did with all of the ends. He then grabbed my hand and said "come on, I'll show you." He pulled me from the kitchen into his bedroom and there in the middle of his bedroom, on the carpet was a pillow. He lifted it up and there laying under it on my cream colored carpet was a pile of 20 half eaten strawberries (I know it was 20 because I counted them).
Apparently, the night before, he was still awake when Nolan and I went to bed, and he decided that he was hungry so, he helped himself to the strawberries. I can tell you, Lesson Learned! From now on, I'll make sure that Kane is completely asleep, and full when I put him to bed!!!
