I ate way too much pie, and had the best time visiting with our family.

We are truly blessed.

Here's the coconut cream pie I made- it was super yummy. I'll post the recipe later. At Christmas I'm going to try it again and tweek it a little- we'll see how that goes:

We always spend Thanksgiving at the hubby's grandmother's home. They always invite my parents who would otherwise be alone since my brother and sister spend the holiday with their in-laws. It's so nice having both sides of the family represented there and not having to choose.

Look at that spread- There was ribs, turkey, 8 pies, 5 or 6 salads, rolls, different types of potatoes, stuffing, 2 kinds of cranberry sauce, and on and on! It's wild isn't it? It goes all the way to the back wall:

I love this guy so much:

He's so handsome and fun! I think I'll keep him.

Little Miss Sassy Pants got to take a bubble bath in her grandma's whirlpool tub.

On Friday we took the kids to the mall to see Santa Claus and to pick out their yearly ornaments. Little Miss got, you guessed it- a Princess! Little Man got one that looks like Hycee- the Smelly Beast. They're both pretty cute (the ornaments- but the kiddos are pretty cute too aren't they?):

Little Man asked Santa for Legos and a Wrestling Buddy.

Maybe he'll get it and he'll be happy wrestling with it and he'll stop testing out these moves on his poor sister:

Little Miss asked for a Rudolf the Reindeer that walks and has a light up nose. Good Luck with that one Santa!

What are you asking Santa for? I'm hoping to get one of these super cute rainbow colored granny square blankets:

How completely wonderful is this blanket! It's so happy and cozy looking!!!

I can already see myself curled up in my rocking chair with our sweet new baby in my lap nursing, all curled up, cozy and warm, while everyone else is sleeping away during the night feedings. It will be super special bonding time!!! Yay!

Friday night we watched our first Christmas movie of the year, Frosty the Snowman. Our favorite is Rudolf- can't wait for that one.

I've had Christmas music going since we got home Friday. I love it!

I spent most of Saturday in front of the computer christmas shopping. I am over half done!!!

Amazon.com is truly amazing. I did all my shopping in my sweats and socks, and they will all show up at my door, and I never had to leave the comfort of my own home! Rock on!

Today I plan to do the following:

Bible Study
Workout
Clean house- vacuum, sweep, wash sheets, make beds, fold clothes, dust, and put up Christmas tree and santas.

I Better Get Started!

This time of year he is super busy and going, going, going all the time.

Thankfully it is a job that we can tag along.

I make all the home games and try to get to as many of the away games as I can. However- he really likes for us to ride the bus to save on gas money, but I tell myself that it's also because he loves us so much that he MUST have us with him.

The kiddos also get a huge kick out of riding on the big, yellow bus to the games with the the basketball boys and dad, so it's a win-win all around.

However, this year this girl's preggo and there probably won't be too many school bus rides for me.

Thankfully they broadcast his games on the local radio station. He's practically a Star.

I mean he is a Star to me...but I'm talking a famous Star. Crazy.

We went to his home game lastnight. He's so handsome all dressed up out there coaching...

He's the blurry guy in the black pants and redish shirt (apparently my phone only takes blurry shots in a gym from far away- who knew).

They won so by the end he was just chillin'...

Little Miss had a big time eating all the food she could find hidden in her daddy's office and running around like a wild hullagun (sp?). She looks so innocent though doesn't she?...

She found the cheerleaders floor mats all rolled up and just couldn't help herself. It was like a big tunnel just waiting for her to explore...

My mother-in-law's Birthday was this week. They don't live too close so we had to send her some love in the form of a really fun picture with birthday drawings, and we also made a Birthday video to send to her over facebook...

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">WE LOVE YOU NANA! We hope your day was WONDERFUL!!!

The Smelly Beast is driving me crazy right now with all of her whining!

I'll take you for a walk in a minute you long eared monster!

Don't look at me like that...

She cheats by looking at me with those sad eyes.

Little Miss Sassy had a friend over the other day. They had a big time playing dolls and animals and all that girly stuff she can never seem to talk her brother into playing with her. We did however have to take a break in the fun to take her to the doctor for a physical for school.

She had to have a flu shot while we were there.

Her friend, the 2 nurses it took to hold her down and give her the shot, Little Miss, and myself are all probably scarred for life it was such a tramatic experience.

I had no idea she was so strong and violent.

It was wild.

I took this before she knew she was getting the dreaded S-H-O-T.

All smiles.

Not so much after the shot.

She survived though, and what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger- right?

I'm taking the kids and going to visit my sister. I can't wait. She has 4 kiddos and it is always wild and full of crazy, fun times.

She's the best sister.

I'm Thankful for her.

What are you Thankful for?Kaseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12917803783428348067noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2740405141914447138.post-78837247175404454762012-11-14T06:21:00.000-06:002012-11-15T07:05:28.375-06:00Silly Faces...I'm sitting in my kitchen at the table writing. Checking Facebook. Trying to order some Christmas stuff.

It's early, but I like it.

It's quiet in my house. I have the heat on and I'm wrapped up in my favorite, comfy, big and baggy, ugly, brown sweater.

I'm drinking hot tea.

I love hot tea. It makes me happy.

It makes me feel warm and cozy on cold mornings.

It helps wake me up.

I have two cups I like to drink it out of. They both have scripture on them.

I like to look down at them when I'm holding them and be reminded of how much my Heavenly Father loves and cherishes me.

He's good and merciful.

He's blessed me far beyond anything I deserve.

He's pretty stinkin' awesome.

Maybe it's not the tea that makes me warm and cozy after all.

But I do like hot tea.

The other night when I was putting the munchkins down for bed we had an impromtu photo session. We're quite the models if I do say so myself.

Our range of feeling and emotion is really unbelievable...

This is our "We're too cool for school" look...

Our "Say What?" look...

Our "Totally shocked and surprised" look (the unicorn was trying to get in on our action- can you believe it?)...

"We're so angry" look...

"We love each other and apparently Go Longhorns" look (and we love the Razorbacks just so you know)...

They got to bed a little late and no we didn't read a book, but I think that that our time was well spent and mucho memorable.

I love those silly, little faces.Kaseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12917803783428348067noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2740405141914447138.post-19484551262131907012012-11-14T05:50:00.000-06:002012-11-14T12:12:40.188-06:00Little Man's Soccer...Little Man had his last soccer game this past weekend. He did excellent! He plays so hard and has really improved so much from the start of the year. When the games are over he always looks so cute with his red, little face.

He really is the man- the Little Man anyway!

His team (most of them)...

Showin' off his crazy skillz...

I just got a new phone that I took all of these pictures with. It's an android?. Whatever that means. HCG something or other, but I LOVE it!!!

It takes great pictures and I've never had a smart phone before, so I am having quite the fun time figuring out all the bells and whistles! In between games (or maybe when Little Man was out taking a break) I took a few random photos just to play...

Little Miss had a big time on the playground with some of her friends. She loves to dig in rocks, sand, dirt, it doesn't matter- she just loves to dig and get dirty! She was all about all the pretty pink rocks she was finding.

Guess where she wanted their forever home to be: the kitchen counter. NOT HAPPENING!

They now reside in her little purse. I keep waiting for the moment she spills them all over the place, but she's happy and they aren't on my counters so everyone wins I guess.

She's a mess, and you should have seen her after the games were over and it was time to go! She was so dirty!
We had to take them both home and hose them down.

It was a good Saturday.

What did you do this weekend?Kaseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12917803783428348067noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2740405141914447138.post-79259025303284875602012-11-09T06:15:00.000-06:002012-11-09T06:15:24.680-06:0010 Things No One Tells You About Pregnancy...With this being my third pregnancy I thought I would share with you a few things I've learned along the way, and just so you know- None of this knowledge came from a book.:

1. All lady-likeness will be out the window and you will have more gas than your husband, your children, the milk man, the mailman, and the mailman's mother combined.

2. The first trimester you will be so bloated that you will think that you must have "Good Year" written across your backside.

3. You have to be a professional acrobat if you want to clip or paint your toenails.

4. Your lower back will hurt so bad that when you wake up in the mornings it will take you 10 minutes just to bend over to put your pants on.

5. Your sweet, loving husband will probably start keeping track of the number of times you ask him to rub your back.

6. Varicose veins come in a really pretty shade of purple.

7. You will wake in the middle of the night with leg cramps that hurt so bad they will make your unborn child cry.

8. If you make it through the entire pregnancy without some sort of crazy skin something or other you have experienced a miracle, and you are one lucky girl. However, you should probably not tell other pregnant women because you might get hurt.

9. You don't have to ask for people's opinions to hear them anyway, and the number one thing they like to give their two cents about is your weight.

10. Your not supposed to, but you will want to eat your weight in chocolate, and whatever else you can get your hands on for that matter.

Bonus: You will be so emotional and irrational that you should probably buy stock in kleenex for all the times you'll be wiping your eyes and blowing your nose. It might be something as small as someone putting the milk on the wrong shelf in the fridge, but it will feel like the end of the world.

Like I said, these are just a few things I've learned.

While pregnancy is so wonderful and awesome, it can get pretty real, REAL fast!

Thank goodness I have a husband that loves me and can handle a lot! He's a good guy (and I didn't just write that because he told me he'd be reading my blog today- love you babe!)- He really is!

Have a good day!
Kaseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12917803783428348067noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2740405141914447138.post-12190931057190028752012-11-08T10:05:00.000-06:002012-11-08T10:05:46.620-06:00Random...After the BIG Halloween Feast I was too tired to bring in all the chairs, blankets, and tables right away. However, my procrastination paid off because I finally waited long enough that my sweet hubby and little munchkins helped me bring all the stuff in- Plus- they helped me rake leaves and sweep off the drive and porch (which were getting out of hand just so you know!).

We awarded Little Mr. and Miss Sassy with <strike>being thrown</strike> jumping into the leaves. It was a pretty wild time had by all, and while jumping into the leaves was great fun they weren't quite as excited about all the crunchy leaves down their pants afterwards.

We just can't have it all ya know?!

Did I mention that I love these faces?...

Little Miss started pre-school yesterday. She'll be going 3 days a week. She was so worried that she wouldn't know anyone and that no one would want to be her friend :( .

I assured her that she was totally awesome and that people would have to be crazy not to want to be her friends!

So what a relief when I picked her up and she said, "I made like hundreds of friends! I love school, and I want to go every day!"

She's a rock star!

I'm so ready for Thanksgiving!

I have so many things to be thankful for!

My Savior- who died on the Christ for my sins so that I can meet him in heaven someday
The Hubby
The Kiddos
The sweet baby in my belly
The Health of me and my family
Awesome parents and in-laws
The list could go on and on!

While I'm really thankful for all the blessings in my life there's also this really <strike>hungry</strike> <strike>shallow</strike> excited place inside of me that is totally pumped about the hubster's grandmother's homemade macaroni and cheese, and all the pie I can fill up on.

Is that sad?

I mean I really enjoy visiting with all of our family while I'm eating those four different types of pie. That counts for something right? It's always really amazing pie and you should taste this macaroni! It's worth the year long wait every time!!!

I've been working on making some jewelry. I plan on blogging about it. I'm also going to make a few aprons, re-do some furniture, and make a baby blanket for the baby. When I get them done I'll show them to you and see what you think.

Have I mentioned that I'm 28 weeks along and we still haven't named the baby yet? We can't seem to agree on any names. The only things we do agree on concerning names is to talk about it later. That's something I guess.

Have a good day! I'm off to work at the school for a little while. Bye!
Kaseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12917803783428348067noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2740405141914447138.post-74217278738100575912012-11-03T13:30:00.000-05:002012-11-03T13:30:06.279-05:00Afternoon Play Date...Yesterday Little Miss and I had so much fun! A friend from high school and her sweet little girl drove over to spend the afternoon with us.

We ate lunch at my favorite little breakfast/lunch spot, did a little shopping at some of the fun little shops here in town, and then headed over to the park.

While we were out shopping the sweet lady at one of the shops offered to put a glitter tattoo on the girls faces. The Ruth-i-nator was so excited, she even got to pick her own glitter colors for the star tattoo- pink, blue, and purple. It was beautiful!

She sat so still and was such a big girl!

Then they had these fun masks, so of course we had to try some of them on (check out her outfit- she's sporting quite the colorful mix of things, and of course no outfit is complete without every beaded necklace in one's jewelry box)...

They were soooooo cute together, and had the best time!

Oh! I almost forgot- isn't Little Miss Sassy Pant's haircut the cutest! I broke out the ole' scissors the other night and cut it in this cute, little bob, and then debated for the longest time on giving her bangs. I finally just went for it, and I am so glad I did! Isn't she the cutest thing ever!!!

Have a Happy, Warm, Wonderful, Fall Day!

Kaseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12917803783428348067noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2740405141914447138.post-74767492921169845992012-11-02T09:48:00.000-05:002012-11-02T09:48:45.667-05:00HaLLoWeeN...OOOhhhHH...For Halloween this year I decided to ask Little Man what he wanted for dinner before the big Trick-or-Treating festivities began.

Normally we eat pretty healthy around here and try to keep the processed, sugar-filled, non-veggie oriented items away from this dwelling, but I figured in honor of this holiday that is already pretty twisted anyway we might as well go all out and eat all of the above and then some.

I mean why not, right?!

So, we invited some friends over and I set up some tables in the yard and we partied it up with the following on our plates:

Chili, Cheese nachos- I even bought Velveeta- which as far as I'm concerned is like a 4 letter word around here. I wasn't joking when I implied that we got WILD around here.

Homemade Apple Pie w/ ice cream- YUM!

Homemade Hot Chocolate w/ Homemade Marshmallows- and for the record- I might not EVER eat another store bought marshmallow again! I am officially spoiled and my taste buds are officially snobbed out!

After we stuffed ourselves silly the munchkins got dressed up and we headed to this really fun street here in town that looks like a Halloween Explosion took place- all the houses hand out sinful amounts of candy and basically try to make all the local children (and their mothers) wake up the next day with sugar-hangovers (which I did btw).

It was a rockin' fun day- however I was a little bummed when Little Man's original costume idea was a wash and we had to fall back on the ole' stand by BatMan.

Awww...Ole trusty Batman- he's a good one, he's a good one (*sigh*).

Here are the Apple Pie, Hot Chocolate, and Marshmallow recipes that I followed:

Hot Chocolate from the blog Honey and Fitz - My sexy, stud of a husband said it was the BEST he'd ever had, and he doesn't throw around words like "Best ever" very often- so I guess that's really saying something.

Marshmallows are Alton Brown's at the Food Network site - I don't know if they will roast up like store bought ones, but I can't wait to test it out. I'll keep you posted, because I mean really?! Who doesn't want to know all about my marshmallow adventures?!?!..it's exciting stuff.

and Grandma Ople's apple pie at All Recipes.

I've done the apple pie a few times and it's good one, and I most certainly will be doing the hot chocolate and marshmallows again at Christmas- the extended fam is in for a treat!

We hope you had a Wonderful and Happy HaLLoWeen!!!

Okay- so I have a Confession.

I'm a Twi-hard. Or at least I was.

However, now that I've seen all the movies- I can't just not go and see the last one.

So, I've got my tickets and I'm ready. Ok, I'm excited. And yes- I know that the Proverbs 31 Woman would probably not be a Twilight movie/book person, but I do think that she would approve of the best part of why I love going to these opening night midnight movies...
...My niece and my sweet sister-in-law always go as my dates. We go get yummy food, coffee, dress warm, and head to the movie theater about 4 hours early and veg-out, visit, laugh, and have the best time! I love these girls!

Miss Lovie @ www.missloviecreations.blogspot.com is upbelievable at just about most crafts, but she rocks it out when it comes to jewelry.

www.cottonandcurls.blogspot.com has some super cute stuff!

www.cluckclucksew.com is an amazing quilter and I love some of her sewing projects. She's even inspired me to try one of her quilts that she assures is simple (we'll see I guess).

http://www.stitchedincolor.com/ -Sews like a dream, and while I could never make the quilts she makes- it still inspires me to break out the sewing machine to create something- even if my projects are smaller and simpler!

My all time favorite spot to sit down with my hot tea and warm blanket and veg out for a while is Meg's site @ www.megduerksen.typepad.com - This lady Loves Christ and is so talented it is crazy!

Of course- I also love Pinterest- but really- who doesn't?!

Well, I'm off to my Mom's Pray Group!
Kaseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12917803783428348067noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2740405141914447138.post-62200259696977277952012-10-16T11:20:00.001-05:002012-10-16T11:20:43.144-05:00Healthy, Yummy, Goodness...

For those of you that don't know this about me- I'm a healthy food-a-holic,, hard-core label reader, and a Vegetarian.

I like to make all of our snacks from scratch- that way I know what is going into them, and I like to keep lots of veggies and fruit on hand.

<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">Confession- I start to get a little freaked out when the fridge starts to run low.

I thought I would share one of our favorite recipes for pancakes with you. I usually double this recipe and cook all of it and then freeze the leftovers so the kiddos (and myself) can have homemade pancakes on the fly on school mornings. When you want them you just pop them in the toaster for a bit and WA-LA- hot, healthy, yummy goodness on the fly, on a school morning.

<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The Best part- your kids will think you're the Bomb-digity!!!

<span style="color: black; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">Whole-Grain-Gluten Free-Yummy Pancakes

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1/4 Cup Whole Flaxseeds- ground*

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1/2 Cup Rolled Oats- ground* (Old-Fashion- not instant or quick cooking)

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1/2 Cup Brown Rice Flour*

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1/2 Cup Fava/Garbonzo Bean Flour

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">2 TBSP Tapioca Flour

3/4 tsp Xanthan Gum

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1/4 tsp Salt

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1/2 tsp Baking Soda

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">2 tsp Baking Powder

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1 TBSP Cinnamon

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">2 large eggs (or an egg replacer equalling 2 eggs)

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1 Cup Nonfat Plain Yogurt or Plain Soy Yogurt or 1 Cup Milk w/ 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar mixed and set aside for 5 minutes before use

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1/4 Cup Apple sauce

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1 TBSP canola or oive oil

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">1 Cup Water (or to the consistency you prefer)

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">*Note: I grind my own flaxseeds and oats in my coffee grinder. Your body will digest the flaxseeds them better ground- they just run straight through if you eat them whole- so grinding is a must. You can buy it pre-ground but I think they retain their freshness and are healthiest if grind right before use.

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">*Note: If you aren't worried about making these Gluten-Free you can replace the 1/2 cup Brown Rice Flour and 2 TBSP Tapioca Flour, and 3/4 tsp xanthan gum with 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">Mix together Dry ingredients

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">Mix together wet ingredients

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">Make a well in center of Dry ingredients and pour wet ingredients into well and stir until just combined (be sure not to over mix or stir).

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">If you have time I find that it is best to let the batter sit for about 10 minutes or so- Go make coffee and set the table or something while you wait.

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">I use a griddle on 325 degrees so that I can cook more at one time, but you can use a skillet too if that is what you have on hand. Spray a little non-stick spray or butter or non-hydrogenated spread on the skillet so they don't stick, then using a 1/4 cup measuring cup ladle the batter onto the skillet and allow to cook until golden brown, flip and cook until golden brown on second side. Serve nice and warm w/ pure maple syrup and fresh berries or sliced banana, roasted walnuts, and pure maple syrup.

-If there are ingredients that you've never heard of and your store doesn't carry them then you can more than likely get those things at the Health food store. Just ask they'll help you find what you need.

Enjoy!

I know...

It's been a while.

I have a story to tell you.

It's about the road that has led me to this place that I'm at right now. While the road has been rocky and the journey a little ugly at times- it has led to the most wonderful of places.

I started on this road when I was about 7 I think (while the exact age seems to have left me- I remember clearly the place and the company). I was sitting in the hall of my house where I grew up waiting to use the restroom when my father came down the hallway. I asked him to sit down and visit with me for a minute- I had some questions. Questions about Jesus and God. Questions about my salvation and where I would go when I died. There in the hallway, with my earthly father's support, waiting to use the bathroom, I chose to believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior.

Fast forward a few years to a teenager who believed in Christ but really didn't take it much further than that. Who was super quick to throw others under the bus with judgement for their "sin", but felt like since she wasn't going to the parties and doing "those" things then she must be doing right by God. Right?.

Fast Forward a few more years to college. I continued to say I loved God and believed in his Son as my Savior, but unfortunately continued to live a life that was contrary to what I professed. I made many poor decisions and followed the road of the world in a way that I'm sure made satan sing with joy. I dated and then later became engaged to a guy that was a relationship unhealthy for both parties I'm sure. Emotional damage seemed to be the base for which that relationship was built on. I prayed and prayed that God would heal our tattered and torn relationship. I was marrying this man for crying out loud! How could we ever have a successful marriage if we couldn't even date properly? I shed tears over the brokenness of it all- all the while crying out to God to fix what we seemed to tear down and break so frequently. With invitations sent out, two wedding showers under our belt, dress, flowers, and cake all purchased, and less than a month before the wedding we threw in the towel and walked away from each other.

What had gone wrong? Had I not prayed hard enough? It felt like complete failure had consumed me. Embarrassment. Shame. Hopelessness. What had started as a smooth road, had turned into pebbles, then rocks, then boulders, and had come to its end as this huge mountain that I could see no way over. Along with the ending of what I thought was supposed to be the beginning of this new life came other changes. I immediately moved home to my parents after living on my own for 3 years, changed schools (or so I thought at the time), and basically just tried to figure out where it had all gone wrong.

The next few months to follow would not be what I would describe as pretty. Without going into too much detail lets just say that rock bottom seemed to be my new address. However I had mastered the art of putting on a happy face and making it seem like all was well in the world. I was not happy with the person I had become, and I know that God was saddened by where my life had gone.

It was one of those things that in the midst of the sin and shamefulness I could hear and feel the Holy Spirit convicting me. Telling me to turn away from the ways that seemed to be consuming me, but I just kept turning from him and digging myself deeper and deeper in. I just kept turning to the world to try to put out the pain, but it only seemed to produce more pain and more trouble.

It was during this time of lowness that the future hubster came into the picture (again. Seeing as how he and I had grown up together and then dated in high school for a couple of years off and on, only to part ways when I went off to college). I'm not going to lie and say that it was all roses right from the start, because frankly drama usually follows when your heart is saying one thing and your brain is saying another. However, after a few talks, a few situations, and a few shed tears it became apparent that Nolan was God's answer to the prayer I had prayed a year earlier. The prayer where I had prayed for him to heal the brokenness of another relationship with another guy. The prayer where I thought he had abandoned me and left me hopeless. The prayer I thought he had chosen not to hear- not to listen to. It wasn't that he didn't care or had chosen to ignore me- instead like a faithful and loving parent he had just chosen to say "No."

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the Lord, "and will bring you back from captivity." -Jeremiah 29:11-14

You see, only He knew my future. My small faith had left me feeling abandoned and alone in my time of need. I felt that God had failed me, but he had really delivered me choosing to reveal himself true and faithful on his time, not mine. Most of all he chose to show himself loving despite the lack of love I had shown him.

Nolan and our marriage was a "good and perfect gift" that could have only "come from above," but like I'll show you tomorrow when I finish this story- sinful nature is not pretty, and can unfortunately, cause hurt and pain within the most wonderful of God's gifts.

For now I'll leave you with this. My hope is that through my story you can find hope. Just know that God is faithful, and merciful, and always- ALWAYS- shows himself true. Unfortunately we have to hit rock bottom sometimes to recognize our need for him, but find joy in those moments- for it is then that God's Glory and Awesomeness can truly be realized and we can find him.

I know. It's completely gross.

So anyhoo, the other day I told her that when you eat your boogers your brain turns to mush.

I know what you're thinking: "How Could she?!!"

Well- really it was easy. She eats her boogers People, like she's never had a meal and it makes me cringe every single time I have to witness it. I love her dearly with all my heart, but Boogers? Really? I mean come on.

So yes- I told her that her brain would soon be turning into mush and start running out of her ears with every little green monster that she munched on.

Her brother thought this was a swell little game to play on his sister so he added his 10 cents with the comment that her brain would turn to such mush that she wouldn't even be able to say her name anymore. She'd only be able to say "ljkjd kjiujid ljljdi lkjsiuoie." when she tried to say "My name is Little Miss Sassy Pants," (her real name was used in the real story, but you understand).

So a couple of days after this conversation I caught her eating her boogies again and I told her that I thought I saw something coming out of her ears and that it was probably her brain since I'd seen her eating her boogers. She looked at me and laughed and said "yeah right mama!" and then walked around the corner. Once around the corner she stopped and I could hear her saying "My Name is Little Miss Sassy Pants."

I guess she was just double checking that everything was still okay and that those boogs hadn't caused too much damage. It was too funny!

Also, I curious about what you think about Miley Cyrus' new do?

I think I like it. And let's be honest: She's famous and if she wants long, brown, flowing locks by next Thursday all she has to do is tell someone and she'll look like her old self in no time with extentions and color. But I say- good choice on the blond, short, bold look- it suits her features and for sure got her the attention that she was probably going for. I dig it.

Did I mention that I like the dress too? Although it is a little too low cut- It works with the hair.

I am going to:

1) Start Waking up at 5:00 a.m. (yes- that's in the morning when it's still dark) on weekdays

2) Exercise in the morning on weekdays

3) Do my bible study 7 days a week in the mornings right when I wake

4) Wake up 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. on weekends

5) Plan my days in an organized fashion in the mornings so I know what all is to be done and completed in that fabulous day

6) Get breakfast and school lunches started before I wake the kiddos

7) And finally: Do all of these things before the munchkins rise and shine or rise anyway.

8) Oh and one more: Make the beds before I take Little Man to school while kiddos are eating breakfast.

And do it all with a sMile. (Or at least with open eyes -baby steps my friends or space or whoever).

She is far more precious than jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax,
and works with willing hands.
14 She is like the ships of the merchant;
she brings her food from afar.
15 She rises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
and portions for her maidens.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
17 She dresses herself with strength
and makes her arms strong.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her hands hold the spindle.
20 She opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.
These are just a few of the things I love- but most of all I love God and his Son Jesus- my Savior. He's blessed me with one handsome Hubby, two crazy awesome kids, one more on the way, and a dog that has the biggest, floppiest ears ever!

I bake, cook, obsess over my family eating yummy- healthy stuff, run, walk, lift weights, do yoga, take naps, read my bible, kiss my kiddos, help with homework (2nd grade is harder than I remember btw), read, chase my hubby around to ballgames (he's a coach), go to prayer group, try to craft, try to sew, volunteer at the school, and basically try to do way to much, but I just can't help myself because I love all these things sooooo much! Oh- and did I mention that now I'm trying to blog again?!

Thankfully the Lord is My Strength and I can do all things through him... So this is me journaling my days attempting to be more like God's Proverbs 31 woman. She basically did it all gracefully and amazingly and probably without a nap, but then again- maybe not. Either way she RoCKs, and I'm thinking that on top of everything else she's amazing at she's probably a way SuPer good teacher too. I'm confident she'll guide me to being a better wife, mother, friend, daughter, and probably dog owner. However, the best thing she'll teach me is to give God all the GloRy along the way.

The moments when our kids give us free hugs and when we get to make snow angels and build snow forts together? Or when we gather around the table to drink our hot chocolate only to get the giggles because little miss has a marshmellow mustache?

I want to be in a place where I'm always able to stop and enjoy these moments. To breath them in and enjoy every second of them.

Thank you for the snow days.

Kaseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12917803783428348067noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2740405141914447138.post-26524349992497205862011-01-14T07:32:00.004-06:002011-01-14T07:44:28.089-06:00A Portrait of a Family...Just because we can...

And now the funny faces- hehe...

Aren't my babies growing like weeds!

Little Man is in Kindergarten!
