So Many Projects- So Little Time...

I've been away trying to get some projects completed.

It seems like between raising children, taking care of a husband, projects, running, cooking, ballgames (hubs is a coach), teaching aerobics, house cleaning, and blogging there just isn't enough time in the day. So unfortunately blogging has taken a back seat for the last few days.

Good news though: I'm back with projects to share!

Yay!

I know you're stoked- try to control yourselves please.

One of my many projects was a cabinet I bought over a year ago. It's just been sitting in my kitchen with no backing and no shelves with my dishes just sitting in the bottom of it sadly hoping that one day I would give them a nicer cabinet to live in.

Well- Today is that day little red dishes!

I started by nailing and gluing on a back (I had it cut to size at Meeks Lumber), and then nailing and gluing in the shelves. I then decided on a nice, pretty green for my paint color (the outside was already perfect:

All painted:
With my dishes in it:

Complete:
I love it! Yay!

We've also been super busy with family stuff:

A birthday party for Nana. It was my wonderful father's birthday too (we had a party for him too but I forgot to pull out the camera):

Happy Birthday you guys: WE LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH!!!

Nana and Little Miss

I made homemade Carrot Cake Cupcakes w/ real cream cheese frosting and candied pecans- and they were awesome- for the party. For my dad's party I made a Pumpkin Cheesecake w/ a caramel glaze and candied pecans- can I get a YUM-YUM?!!

Nana and her little man

I decided I wanted to teach myself how to sew clothes for my sweet little ones. So this is what I've got so far:

Christmas Shirt
and matching skirt/socks/bow:

This was my very first cloths sewing project ever! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Thanksgiving shirt (I'm in the process of making a matching skirt):

What do you think: Could this stuff be sold?

So that's where I've been and what I've been doing while I was there.

I've got my 1/2 marathon coming up this Sunday. Wish me luck!

Head over to my other blog Diary of a Hungry Mom and check out my sweet new blog design- she's a beaut!

Happy Thursday!

I LOVE your cabinet ... where did you get that at?! I'm so in love with that distressed stuff!!
Also, the shirts and skirt you made are simply adorable ... definitely think you could sell that stuff. Have you ever checked out etsy.com ... I'm addicted to that site and they have tons of stuff like that. My advice to you is to open up a shop and make a little money!

I'll have to check out the White Rabbit for sure!
My husband and I met at my cousin's wedding ... my cousin married his brother!! We met back in 2000 after I graduated college but didn't start dating till 2005. He was in the Air Force and was away from Arkansas for that time in between. He is actually from Berryville and his family lives in Alpena now ... his Mom works at Berryville schools and his dad is the principal at Alpena. Your husband coaches in Eureka, right? By the way, we still need to meet one day for lunch!!

OK - first off, so much to say. I am sort of jealous of your half marathon. Some of my favorite experiences have been running them. Secondly - your dishes look perfect against the green background. Thirdly - your skirt is darling, and should be really proud. I love your turkey.

Hi Kasey! I found you via JenJen, I love that Turkey Turtleneck! It's darling! I would love to buy one from you! I have a six year old little girl. Have you only made one so far? It really could be sold.

My neighbor sells shirts like yours for $25. She has to turn down orders as it gets closer to the holidays. Good luck!!

Jen said...

I love these shirts, and yes, you could (and should) sell them! I do craft shows and believe these would be good sellers! You have done a great job!

I love the clothes, can you tell me where you got the pattern for the turkey? This is something my church craft group could make as for gifts we could make for our needy members. I was thinking making it so that it could be removable and they could use the same shirt for both holidays. If you can help with information please contact me at Blazingstars@yahoo.com Thanks, Cathy
