2009- Word of the Year...

Over at Tip Junkie (one of my favorite sites for new and fun ways to do things), Laurie is hosting a "Word of the Year" for 2009. What a great idea...One word that sums up what you would like to achieve for yourself in the new year. And as if this isn't a great enough idea on its own, there is a giveaway involved! Woohoo!!! I mean come on, who doesn't love prizes? You can go here to find out more about it.

The word I have chosen to sum up what I want for myself in 2009 is:

Genuine: Not Fake

"There is something in every one of you that waits and listens for the sound of the genuine in yourself. It is the only true guide you will ever have. And if you cannot hear it, you will all of your life spend your days on the end of strings that somebody else pulls." -Howard Thurman

I think so often I put on a show to make myself look better in hopes that people will like me more. I've decided that this year I want people to see me for who I am, faults and all. I want to be real, honest, and who God intended for me to be. I think there is something to be said for being Genuine!

Thanks for visiting. Yes, spelling Kasey with a "K" is way cooler than a C!!! You're kids are cute. And I think I am too much of a people pleaser. I want them to like me, and sometimes I don't voice my true opinion b/c I'm afraid they won't like me. I like your word.

I love the word you picked. And I've always considered you to be a forth-coming person who is not afraid to be herself, so in my opinion your already well on your way towards your goal!
