Friend Makin' Monday...

Welcome to another Monday full of Makin' Friends! Aren't friends great!?

You can go Here for info and the rules of FMM. I hope you will join us to make some bloggin' friends. Because believe me: There is no better place to make some great ones than right here at FMM! Can I get an AMEN!

I know that last week I told you that we would be having a guest host this week. However something came up and Andrea from My Chihuahua Bites will be hosting next week instead. So come back then too, you won't want to miss it!

This week I would like for us to share some friendly advice. I got this idea from Renee at The Sturgill Road.

What is the Best Advice someone has ever given you? You can share one or as many as you want. Just Share!:

Here's mine:

When I got married my father took me to the side and told me something very important that I still carry with me to this day (I got married 7 years ago in May).

He told me that it was very important for me to realize and remember that I was growing up and that getting married was a big step. He said that I wasn't going to be living on my own anymore and that I would be sharing everything with another. He said that it was important for me to remember that Nolan would be depending on me now and that I needed to take care of him. No more leaving things messy, bed unmade, I needed to cook, and take care of the house. He told me that by doing these things that Nolan would feel like I loved him and was taking care of him.

To this day when I wake up I make the beds, I pick-up throughout the entire day and I try my hardest to cook a nice meal on the nights that Nolan is home (he coaches so he's at games some nights), I go to his games and support him, and I take care of majority of the inside house stuff. I like it like this because I feel like I am taking care of him and he is so good to tell me that he feels loved and taken care of. He has told me how thankful he is to come home to a house that is clean and taken care of and to a nice home cooked meal.

Sometimes when I find myself just wanting to sit around and be lazy I hear my Dad's voice ringing in my ear and I just do it. Because I have learned from experience with the hubby that Good Ole' Dad is right! And the truth is: Not only does it make Nolan feel good, but it makes me feel good knowing that I am taking care of him!

There you have it: Advice to Live By!!!

I hope everyone had a great Easter! I'll share more about ours, along with some pictures, later this week. Don't forget to sign in with Mr. Linky! And Have a great Monday!

Oh Yeah: Don't forget to visit at least 2 others from Mr. Linky...I mean how else will you make some friends if you don't go say HI!!!? You know?

I need to remember that advice! It's amazing how your bedroom can be messy, but with the bed made, it looks so much neater!

Great advice!

In a recent Bible study we learned that we should do all things as if we are doing them for the Lord. Now that's a tough one! Everything? I have a very funny friend that says she repeats Makin' it clean for Jesus over and over as she scrubs the toilets! It gives new definition to shining His throne!

Have a great week!

What great advice for a Father to pass on to his daughter upon entering marriage. I think there would be far less divorces in this world if young ladies only understood the fine points of "work" that come with the phrase "I do".

I really had to think hard to come up with something for this topic.
It's totally thought provoking...

Way to go!

Fabulous advice from your daddy. It's so interesting to see that if we make an effort to please the hubby, they make an effort to please us. Nice makes for more nice.
Great topic. Thank you!

Great topic! Great advice!! I think your dad was right on with his advice. Our actions always speak louder than our words.

Hope you have a happy Monday!!

I appreciated this piece of advice. In fact, I went and folded all the laundry (come on now...it was only a couple of loads) and tidied up things a little. Even though some women could take this advice the wrong way I think when a husband and wife both love eachother and respect eachother and both strive to make the other happy then it totally makes sense. Thanks for sharing!

Kasey, what good advice that is. Hubby and I were just sort of dancing around this exact subject this weekend, it's something I need to work on. He works from home 3 days a week, and it's so easy to take each other for granted. Thank you for the reminder :-)

I L-O-V-E our topic this week and really like the advice your Dad gave you (so can I blame it on my Dad that I don't make my bed every morning?!). No wonder Nolan is sweet to you -- you take great care of him and make him proud to have you as a wife!

Have a great evening!

Love that I am commenting just after one of my dearest friends......

Ok, she links to your blog all the time and I have to admit that I love it!! I want to jump in on Friend Making Monday, but the Mr. Linky thing intimidates me. Christie can attest to the fact that I am VERY computer challenged so I am going to figure it out and jump in on all the fun!!

Great idea and I LOVE the topic. Given my computer challenges, it may be Friend Makin Friday before I join in.

Just wanted to say "hi" and introduce myself!

What great advice! Sometimes we get so caught up in the woman can do everything mood that we sometimes neglect our husbands. What a very wise dad you have! Thanks again for hosting FMM! Have a blessed day!

What a fun meme! I love this advice thingy too...sounds like a good topic to compile answers on for newlyweds, new moms, etc...

Yippee!!! I figured it out......very easy. I'm a total dork. I don't know why I thought it was complicated!

I'm sure Nolan and your kiddos love the home-cooked meals and pretty, clean house. You're probably instilling great habits in your kids which they'll have when they're grown up. Sounds like you're not only taking care of your families needs, you're creating a great environment which they will probably always cherish as "home." That's wonderful! Hope you had a great Easter!

I'm so far behind *wah* WOnder if it's too late to do this? We'll see. My plate has been so full lately, swear it.
