Friend Makin' Monday...

Well it's been a while but I thought I would give it a go! So here I go:

What are your hobbies? What do you wish that you knew how to do?

My Hobbies:

Run- this has been one of those things that has grown on me and I have to be
with someone for it to be enjoyable!

Bake/Cook-breads, soups, muffins, pies- you name it and I like to cook it

Decorate- Of course it would be a lot more fun if I had more money

Read a good book- and I'm not afraid to read a good one over and over again!

Things I wish I knew how to do:

Sew- I did make some curtains a few weeks ago, but they were super basic and maybe a little sad!

Plant flowers without killing them- I usually apologize to flowers as I'm carrying them out of the store.

paint- I just think it would be so wonderful to have a house full of my own artwork. I could say "why yes I painted that myself. Thank you." HA!!!

Thanks Amber for taking such good care of FMM!

So off to Kelli's you go!

I know she will have something super fun for you! She is always doing fun things over there, and I have to say that she might have one of the nicest spirits of anyone I've ever come across! See why I love Mondays? I mean I have met some of the most wonderful women through this little thing!

Friend Makin' Mondays...

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been out for a while. We've been super busy and out of town. But I made it back just in time for:

Yes! It's that time again. You can go HERE for the rules and stuff. I am so glad you're here. FMM has become so much bigger and better than I ever imagined because of all of you!

What kind of friends would we be if we didn't confide our deepest darkest secrets with each other? My sister made the comment the other day that from my blog I sound like I have it all together. Well, do I have news for you!: I am so not!

So today's task is Confessions! Spill you guts and I'll start...

1. Monday of this week I ate 2 and 3/4 regular sized Sonic Blasts. No this is not a regular thing I do, but because I try to eat so healthy all the time, sometimes I have moments of weakness, and this particular day I had a few moments!

2. Sometimes I put a movie in for my son to watch just so I can sit down and do nothing for a while!

3. Sometimes if I'm busy doing something else and the baby wakes up and is happy in her bed...I leave her there for a while so I can do what I need to do.

4. Sometimes when my husband upsets me I say hateful things and then immediately regret them but then continue to say more hateful things only to have more regret and guilt. It's a vicious cycle.

5. I am super anal about my house being clean, but I do not remember the last time I cleaned my shower. I know it's gross.

6. Sometimes I spend some of the grocery budget on fun things like clothes and stuff, and then I tell the hubby that I just don't know how we went through the budget so fast.

7. I keep up with our eating out money too, and sometimes when we go out to eat I purposely forget my wallet so that I don't have to admit that I've already spent that budget when it's only half way through the month. (honey, if you're reading this, I'm making this all up for the sake of a good read. *wink-wink*)

8. I was engaged once before the hubster. We broke up 1 month before the wedding because the thought of being married to him literally made me ill, and the fact that he was cheating on me with a 16 yr old didn't help either. Sometimes I think of eat your heart out things I would say to him if I ever ran into him again.

9. I have lived in my house for a year now and there is not a room in it that is completely finished (okay the little man's room is done but only because my mother-in-law came and finished it for me). My bedroom hasn't even been painted yet but has a nice big paint mark of blue that I just wanted to see so I could decide if I liked it or not. That was last summer.

Okay! Share your guilt here! I can't wait to read about it all!!! Don't forget to sign in with the weird Mr. Linky that I don't like as much as the old one, but whatever!

I am looking for friends that would be willing to host an FMM Monday in July. If you would be willing to help me out let me know and I will get with you. Thanks!!!

Friend Makin' Mondays...

Hi Everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

It is time again for another FMM! You can go Here to get the rules and such.

I got this idea from my friend Marci's blog.

This week's task is to tell us 10 things you love about summer!!!

So here I go:

1. I love swimming! Not laying on a raft in the pool, but actually swimming around in the pool, sometimes I even wear those big dorky goggles so I can see where I'm going. I also love to do tricks off the diving board. Love it!

2. I love how the days are longer and it just seems like you have more time to do things.

3. I love vacations!

4. I love to take jars outside and catch fireflies in them.

5. I love how it feels and looks right before the sun goes down in the summer. It's my favorite part of the day and the best time to be outside!

6. I love corn on the cob grilled on the grill!

7. I love family cookouts!

8. I love driving with all the windows down with the music turned up really loud and just cruising!

9. I love all the fresh fruit! I could eat my weight in it hourly! Watermelon, blueberries, strawberries, honey dew melon-I could go on and on! Not to mention eating fresh out of the garden tomatoes like they were an apple! Yum!!!

10. I love how the hubby has the whole summer off and just gets to be with us!

What's your favorite things about Summer?!

Mr. Linky is giving me lots of grief. If you are
participating please be sure to leave me a comment telling us.
Then we can just get to your blogs via your comments. Thanks!!!

Friend Makin' Mondays...

Hello Friends!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

I hope FMM helps you look forward to your Mondays a little more than if there wasn't FMM. I know it does me!

You can go HERE to get the rules and stuff for FMM and don't forget to take a cute little button for your FMM post. It can be found at the bottom of the right hand sidebar.

Today's task is to share as few or as many everyday, little tips that you use to make your lives easier. You know- all those special tricks you might have to cook, clean, raise kids, work in the yard, and on and on!

Have fun and I can't wait to learn some new stuff from you all!

1) In an attempt to drink enough water (you know...8 glasses, 8 ounces each or something like that), I sit a cup next to the sink and every time I walk through the kitchen I try to down one.

2) I keep a basket next to my dryer to throw stray, lonely socks in, and then every so often I go through and see if any mates have found there way in there.

3) I fold laundry on my bed that way it has to be put up before the day is over (hello, I can't get in bed with clothes all over it, although the hubs has been known to just put it all on the floor, sheesh!)

4) Yes, I make all my own bread...in a bread machine! Dump it in, push a button, wait 2 hrs, bread! Yes, it's that easy.

5) I make my 4 year old son clean the play room and his room. Sometimes we stop in the middle of playing and I make him clean it so that it doesn't get out of control and then we resume playing again. If it gets too messy and crazy out of control I can't enjoy myself and he will whine that it's too much for him to do and then I end up doing it. And I'm not the maid!

6) A lot of times I double recipes so that I can freeze some. It is so awesome during basketball season (my husband's a coach) and when we're busy to just get something out of the freezer, warm it up, and have a home cooked meal without having to take the time to make it happen. (things that freeze great are: soups, bread, lasagna, beans, red beans and rice, I'm sure the list could go on and on)

7) When I make cookies I roll them all into balls and then only cook the amount I want to eat. Then I take the rest and put them into a plastic container with a lid (separate each row with wax paper so they don't stick together) and freeze them. When we want cookies I pull the amount we want out and cook them and put the rest back in the freezer.

8) Did you know you can substitute applesauce for oil in baking. It's healthier and just as yummy. (equal applesauce for oil)

Friend Makin' Monday...

Hello! and Welcome Friends!!!

For those of you that are new to FMM you can go HERE to get the low-down. And for those of you that are hardcore FMMers...Thanks for coming back!

I do have one more rule for you all to add to the short list of FMM rules:
You must take a FMM button and add it to your post (it can be found over on the bottom of the right-hand sidebar)! They are so stickin' cute and they must, must, must be used!

This weeks task is in honor of the fact that today is my Anniversary!

We have been married 7 years today. So, todays question is:

How did you and your significant other meet? and if you don't have a significant other at the moment then what would be your dream way to meet him?

Warning: This is long and very Soap Opera-ish!

Well, the hubby and I actually grew up together. We have known each other as long as I can remember. We never really liked each other until I was a 9th grader and he was an 8th grader though. Well, actually "we" didn't like each other then either. I liked (loved, obsessed over!) him, and he wanted me to drop off the face of the earth. I would see him at church, school, games and confess my undying love for him. He would usually turn many shades of red and tell me to go away! Silly guy had no idea!

Anyhoo, finally my Jr. year, his sophmore year he came around and we started dating. We dated for almost a year when he decided to break up with me the day before my birthday which was also one day after prom! Can you believe it?!!!

We started dating again my Senior year and as was our custom I fell head over hills for him and he was fine with whatever! In true hubby fashion he broke up with me again, but this time he did one better and broke up with me ON my birthday! I know right?!!!

I went off to college the next year thinking I was so over him. I met another guy and we hit it off great. A year or so later I was engaged to him. We dated for 3 years and less than a month before the wedding I was so miserable that I called my mother and confessed to her that there was no way I could marry him. Of course she told me to end it. So that's what I did, and I moved back home the next day.

The day I moved home Nolan's mom came to visit me. I remember walking down the hall of my parents house and rounding the corner into the dining room and seeing her. The first thing out of my mouth before I even said hello to her was "I do not want to talk about Nolan. He and I will never date again!" HA! Famous last words right?

That was in May and I was 21.

On July 4 that same summer I went to a July 4 party with my parents. The hubby's grandparents were there. I don't know why, but for some reason I asked his grandpa how Nolan was and if he was in town for the holiday. His grandpa said he was in, so I went further and told him to make sure and tell him "hello" for me. I had not really even thought about him in 3 years and here I was completely consumed by the thought of getting to see him and just talk with him. It was the craziest feeling I've ever had! That night I told my parents I was going to a friend's house and I drove by his house about 100 times waiting to see his car so I could stop by and tell him "hi". His parents were out of town and he was staying with his grand parents so I didn't get my chance.

His grandpa was good on his word though and he passed on my "hello". The next day my mother called me while I was out on a date to tell me "you will never guess who just called to talk with you?!...Nolan!" I immediately made an excuse and left my date to go home and call him! I'm sure you're all thinking I'm completely crazy now right!?

We made plans to have lunch together that week. We talked and had the greatest time. He told me that it was so strange when his grandpa had told him I said "hi' because even though he had not really thought of me in years he had thought about me and us the entire way home from Texas.

We saw each other a couple of times that week, but then I just stopped returning his calls. I was fresh off a break up. Not just any break up either! I was supposed to have married that guy! And here I was falling head over heals in love with Nolan! Nolan the guy that likes to break up with me on my birthday! I was so not in a good enough emotional place to handle it, so the easiest thing seemed to just not answer the phone!

About a month later I went to a friend's wedding. Nolan's parents sang the most wonderful song. I cried through the whole thing thinking why in the world did I not answer the phone?! I left the wedding and told my mother that I had to call Nolan before he went back to college to tell him that I loved him. I called him about 1 hour after the wedding and he told me that he was on his way out the door to go with his family on a short weekend vacation he would call me when he got back. I told him to please not forget it was important!

He promised to call.

He didn't.

I found out about 1 week later from my mother who had spoken to his grandmother that he had gone back to school in Texas. This was in August.

In November I still had him on my mind. I just couldn't seem to shake this feeling that I needed him in my life. I talked my roommate into calling an old friend of Nolan's and we had him call and get Nolan's phone # down at school for me. I called him, he didn't answer so I left a message. I just knew he wouldn't call me back.

He did.

He came home a week later for Thanksgiving. We spent every moment we could together. By the end of the week we had told each other we loved each other. It was perfect!

However...when he left to go back to school he said we shouldn't put a label on ourselves that with us living 6 hours away from each other that we should just see how things went. Well, let me tell you!...this went all over me! He tells me he loves me and then tells me that we aren't going to put a label on our relationship status! Who does this guy think he is?!

I dated other guys! I'll show him I thought. He came home for Christmas and of course I was so happy to see him, but then at the same time I was like: "You know what...I am sick and tired of your stupid head games! I have got to get over you and move on! I cannot continue to let you rule over me like this!"

So guess what I did? I stopped answering his calls! But this time he did not give up so easily! He called me at work! He showed up at my apartment! The day he showed up at my apartment and wanted to talk I was so distant and I felt so torn! A guy I was talking with and had been out with a couple of times showed up at my door wanting to know if I wanted to go grab a bite to eat. I didn't know what to do! I felt like a child caught with her hand in the cookie jar! But just to be mean to Nolan I introduced them and when I introduced Nolan I introduced him as an old friend from High School! HA!

Later I explained to the guy I was seeing (who was a really sweet guy) that Nolan and I had a long history but I was so over it and I was going to tell Nolan so. I told the guy that I was going to meet with Nolan Christmas night and talk with him and I would call him the next day.

Nolan and I met at my parent's house Christmas night and we stayed up talking into the morning hours. Lot's of tears were shed and I explained to him how much it hurt me that he would tell me he loved me and then not want to label it or in my eyes make it exclusive. He promised me that I was the only one for him and that he loved me and that I could put whatever label on us that I wanted that he just wanted to be with me!

So the next day I had a lot of explaining to do when I called the other guy! Instead of breaking it off with Nolan like I had told him I was going to do, Nolan and I were more serious than ever! OOPS! This was in December.

April 28 he proposed to me in Dallas which was 8 days before my birthday. I had gone down that weekend to find myself an apartment so that we didn't have to do the long distance thing any more. He proposed while I was there. He gave me a journal that he had been writing in for months with my ring in it wrapped around the string bookmark. It was perfect!

We decided that instead of me finding an apartment that weekend we would just get married on May 25! We knew we loved each other and we wanted to be married to each other: Why wait?! So we didn't. and on May 25, 2002 I became his wife! and It was and is wonderful!

I love you Nolan!

Sorry this was so long, but I just couldn't help myself! I promise I won't do it again!

Friend Makin' Monday...

Welcome to another Monday full of Makin' Friends! Aren't friends great!?

You can go Here for info and the rules of FMM. I hope you will join us to make some bloggin' friends. Because believe me: There is no better place to make some great ones than right here at FMM! Can I get an AMEN!

I know that last week I told you that we would be having a guest host this week. However something came up and Andrea from My Chihuahua Bites will be hosting next week instead. So come back then too, you won't want to miss it!

This week I would like for us to share some friendly advice. I got this idea from Renee at The Sturgill Road.

What is the Best Advice someone has ever given you? You can share one or as many as you want. Just Share!:

Here's mine:

When I got married my father took me to the side and told me something very important that I still carry with me to this day (I got married 7 years ago in May).

He told me that it was very important for me to realize and remember that I was growing up and that getting married was a big step. He said that I wasn't going to be living on my own anymore and that I would be sharing everything with another. He said that it was important for me to remember that Nolan would be depending on me now and that I needed to take care of him. No more leaving things messy, bed unmade, I needed to cook, and take care of the house. He told me that by doing these things that Nolan would feel like I loved him and was taking care of him.

To this day when I wake up I make the beds, I pick-up throughout the entire day and I try my hardest to cook a nice meal on the nights that Nolan is home (he coaches so he's at games some nights), I go to his games and support him, and I take care of majority of the inside house stuff. I like it like this because I feel like I am taking care of him and he is so good to tell me that he feels loved and taken care of. He has told me how thankful he is to come home to a house that is clean and taken care of and to a nice home cooked meal.

Sometimes when I find myself just wanting to sit around and be lazy I hear my Dad's voice ringing in my ear and I just do it. Because I have learned from experience with the hubby that Good Ole' Dad is right! And the truth is: Not only does it make Nolan feel good, but it makes me feel good knowing that I am taking care of him!

There you have it: Advice to Live By!!!

I hope everyone had a great Easter! I'll share more about ours, along with some pictures, later this week. Don't forget to sign in with Mr. Linky! And Have a great Monday!

Oh Yeah: Don't forget to visit at least 2 others from Mr. Linky...I mean how else will you make some friends if you don't go say HI!!!? You know?

Friend Makin' Mondays...

Welcome to FMM! If you are a newbie go HERE to check out what all the hype is about and check out the rules.

We're all about makin' friends here at FMM. The last few weeks we've gotten to know all the things that make our friends happy, but what about all the things that make us puff up and get frumpy? Friends should know that stuff too right? Because let's face it...if you push your friend's buttons too many times then they won't be your friend for long! And we're all about long lasting friendships here. So here we go...

Today's task: 10 things that just really get you fuzzed up (that means makes you mad)

Here are my 10:

1. I can't stand fake people! Even if you tell me off and are super hateful to me... well, it beats pretending you know what I'm saying!

2. I can't stand a messy house! I am so anal about it that I will stay up late just to put the dishes in the sink into the dishwasher (although they usually aren't in the sink at bed time because I have to put them up the second dinner is over!)

3. Drama! it makes me ill!

4. It makes me super angry when people make me feel stupid!

5. I can not stand stupid people (you know the people I'm talking about they're all around us!)

6. It fuzzes me up when the hubs doesn't pick his dirty clothes up off the floor!

7. Rules are set for a reason! People should follow them (especially when I make them)!

8. Watch your mouth around my children! Isn't it awful when people talk like they should be sailors around your kiddos!

9. Laziness! If you are given a job you should do it right! or not say you will do it to begin with!

10. People that always do it bigger and better than you no matter what the story! We all know 'em!

Well there you have it! Please Join us! and don't forget to sign in with my friend Mr. Linky!

Next week we will be having a guest author for FMM. Be sure to come back and support my good friend Andrea from My Chihuahua Bites. She was kind enough to help a girl out!

Have a great Monday!

Friend Makin' Mondays...

Welcome To FMM! I love friends and I am so glad you are here to join us!

You can go HERE to learn more about Monday's here at All that is Good and to get the rules!

I think one thing that makes friendship what it is, is how friends share everything! When I was younger I remember sharing clothes, shoes, gossip, food, and of course advice.

So Today We Share!!!

Please share 10 things that you can absolutely not live without and why!

So here I go:

1. Good Hair Spray: I love Shaper Hair Spray. It holds great without being all stiff and rock hard!

2. A good pair of jeans: I love Seven Jeans! They make your butt look great and they feel good. They are kind of pricey, but I say worth it!

3. A new must try is: Mary Kay Mineral Loose Powder Foundation! It makes my skin look so even and smooth! I'm hooked!

4. Mary Kay lip gloss! It stays on great and makes my lips feel nice and smooth!

5. New Balance tenni shoes: Gray, and I don't know their name, but they are comfy and look good with jeans and shorts! Love 'em! And I'm on my second pair.

6. Antiques! I love the way they make things seem homier and add character to a home!

7. Eucerin Lotion: both my kids have really dry skin and though it is a little greasy, it works great on their skin and helps it to look and feel much better!

8. Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam: it gives my limp hair body and style!

9. Best Sweet tea?: Red Diamond Baby! You can't beat it and it tastes better than making it yourself and did I mention you don't have to make it yourself?!

10. Mascara: A good one is your best friend, and bad one can leave you feeling lumpy and stubby! I'm in need of some advice here girlfriends! What's a good one?!

There you have it! My advice on some great stuff that no girl should be without from one friend to another!

If any of you would be willing to host a FMM here on my blog I would love to have you! When you leave your comments just let me know! If you don't want to host your own here but you have a great idea, please let me know! I could use some fresh ideas!

As always thanks for joining! Don't forget to sign in with Mr. Linky so we know where to find you!

Friend Makin' Mondays...

Yay!!! It's time to make some friends! Go Here to learn more about FMM and to get the rules for each week's tasks.

This week I thought we would do a little day dreaming (I am a big day dreamer)...

So here we go...

If you had $1000 dollars, and a baby sitter for a period of 24 hours what would you do?

1. I would start my 24 hours off by going to Starbucks and getting a Mocha frappucino and a orange cranberry muffin.

2. I would go shopping where I would buy a great dress, shoes, and of course accessories (taking my time and looking at everything because I'm all alone of course!).

3. I would then go to a spa where I would get the works. We're talking massage, manicure, pedicure, waxing, facial, hair, and I would also have a nice little lunch while I was there.

Now, don't think I'm awful, but I know that some people would want to spend this special fun time with girlfriends or even sisters and moms, but for me I would want to do it all alone. I would just want to relax and not feel like I had to entertain or talk. This would be just Me-Time!

4. I would then head to the hotel that I would be staying in that night with the hubby, but at this point I would be alone. I would shower and get ready (taking my time) in my nice new number that I purchased earlier in the morning on #2.

5. The hubby would come and pick me up at the hotel (this way it feels more like a real date) and we would go from there to a nice romantic dinner at a nice romantic restaurant.

6. We would then go to a nice play at a local art center. It would be one with lots of props because I say if you're going to take the time and the money to go then I want one with all the bells and whistles you know?!

7. We would then head back to the hotel and have a nice night alone without having to worry about anything else but each other.

8. The next morning we would order in room service and eat in bed before we got all our stuff together and headed back home to the real world and our beautiful babies!

I feel relaxed just thinking about it!

Don't forget to follow the rules...and You can just copy and paste the question onto your own blogs. Have fun Day Dreaming!

I know I did!!!

(I had so many people comment on Fashion is my Passion on Fridays about the shoe on #5...I was just going to let everyone know that they're from Payless! I know right!!!)

Friend Makin' Mondays...

It's that time again!

If you're not familiar with Friend Makin' on Mondays you can go HERE to find out the details, and Welcome! If you are familiar...Welcome back!!!

Don't forget the rules for each week:

1) You must always link back to my blog "All that is Good" on your "get to know your fellow bloggers" post

2) If you participate you must sign in with Mr Linky so that people know where to find you and know you are participating.

3) I know it might not be possible to visit everyone that participates but you must commit to visiting at least 2 other fellow bloggers signed up with Mr Linky and to comment on their post.

Here is this weeks task:

Answer the following questions:

1) My favorite book is: Twilight Series, the Confessions of a shopaholic, or the Harry Potter Series

2) I drive a: Van

3) My favorite type of food to eat is: Thai (if you haven't tried it- it's yummy!)

4) My favorite dessert is: chocolate cake (you know - the death by chocolate kind)

5) My favorite movie is: Sixteen Candles (I've watched it about 100 times)

6) When I go to Starbucks I get a: Mocha Frappuccino (do they have other drinks?)

7) My favorite vegetable is: Is an avocado a veggie? because I'm going with that.

8) My favorite thing to wear is: sweats (yes, I'm guilty! but just around the house...okay, okay - the grocery too, give me a break!)

9) My favorite color is: in clothes it is black, but just a color as a color I pick red.

10) I decorate my house in this style: I would say country, cottagey, eclectic?

11) Right now I am reading: Can you Keep a Secret?

12) If I could vacation anywhere I would go to: My husband loves to snow ski so I would want to go to a cozy little cabin on the slopes where we could ski during the day, and we could sit by the warm fire reading and cuddling at night, and it would have a hot tub. Yes it would be wonderful! I can see it now!

Okay, there you have it...me in a nut shell!

Now what you need to do is copy and paste the questions and answers from here onto your own blog. Once you get it to your blog you will then erase my answers and insert your own. Have fun, and I can't wait to get to know each of you better!

Oh and don't forget to sign up with Mr. Linky!!!
